The Department of Defense announced new provisions for safeguarding covered defense information and cyber incident reporting. These new provisions establish deadlines for DoD contractors handling covered defense information and controlled unclassified information to be fully compliant with the controls in NIST Special Publication 800-171 by December 31, 2017.Many organizations are struggling with these new regulations.
