Our Senior Manager, Nick DeLena, will be appearing on a panel titled “Threats at the Border of Policies and Procedures” at Raytheon on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. This day-long event is being put on by the National Defense Industry Association to discuss the new Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements.
NIST Special Publication 800-171
The Department of Defense announced new provisions for safeguarding covered defense information and cyber incident reporting. These new provisions establish deadlines for DoD contractors handling covered defense information and controlled unclassified information to be fully compliant with the controls in NIST Special Publication 800-171 by December 31, 2017.
Many organizations are struggling with these new regulations. The job market for cybersecurity and information assurance professionals is very competitive, making it very challenging for organizations to “staff up” for compliance deadlines like this.
OCD Tech is a leading provider of DFARS compliance services, assisting CISOs and Information Assurance functions to establish or assess their NIST 800-171 programs in advance of the deadline, as well as establish an ongoing compliance effort.
The May 16th event features keynote speaker Ms. Marianne Bailey, Principal Director, Deputy CIO for Cybersecurity at the office of the Department of Defense CIO and Mr. Peter Kim, the Air Force Chief Information Security Officer.
